A short documentary film realised mainly thanks to the National Film Archive and SRG SSR, which takes the viewer inside the new AlpTransit base tunnel. Auditory and visual impressions retrace 130 years of our relationship with the Saint-Gotthard Massif.

Uno skatepark, comprensivo di scuola, nel bel mezzo di una zona in guerra ha senso in un mondo senza senso, giusto?”. È con questa domanda che l’australiano Craig Stecky III, uno skater della prima ora, ha concepito il progetto Skateistan. Un progetto che è cresciuto tanto da diventare uno skatepark attrezzato al meglio; ma anche una scuola gratuita che chi vuol imparare ad andare sulla tavola ha l’obbligo di frequentare. Il servizio si ripropone di vivere una giornata a contatto con gli skater di Kabul, con chi insegna e con chi impara a destreggiarsi in un mondo difficile con la giusta dose di irriverenza, creatività e cultura.

Does a skate park, with a school, in the middle of a war zone make sense in a world that does not make sense anymore? It is with this question that the Australian skater Craig Stecky III conceived Skateistan. This project has grown becoming today a fully equipped skate park, but also a free school, compulsory for those who want to learn to ride a skateboard. This documentary portraits a day with the skaters from Kabul: with who teaches and who learns to navigate in this difficult world, thanks to a correct dose of irreverence, creativity and culture.

Rahim Walizada è un artista e designer afgano. Scappato con la famiglia all’inizio degli anni ’90, dopo aver lavorato presso vari studi artistici americani nel 2003 è tornato nel suo paese per disegnare e commerciare tappeti. Rahim ha numerosi interessi con i quali si cimenta per passione personale, come l’enorme villa che sta costruendo nella periferia di Kabul o il ristorante fondato nel centro del quartiere di Wazir Akbar KhÄn. Un mondo affascinante che per qualche istante ci fa dimenticare della guerra, dove si cerca di costruire là dove è passata la distruzione, adeguandosi anche al mondo contemporaneo.

Rahim Walizada is an Afghan artist and designer. He escaped his country with his family at the beginning of the 1990s. After working for several American art houses, in 2003 he returned to his home country to design and trade carpets. Rahim has many interests with which he engages such as the huge villa he is building in the suburbs of Kabul or the restaurant opened in the center of the Wazir Akbar KhÄn neighborhood. A fascinating world that for a moment makes us forget about the war: trying to build where there has been destruction, attempting also to adapt to the contemporary world.
